Conference Frequently Asked Questions

When is the deadline for paper submissions?
The deadline for all Refereed Presentation, Refereed Poster, Symposium, and Special Interest Group (SIG) presentation submissions is 20 January 2010. When and how will I be notified if my paper was selected?
ICHRIE will notify all lead authors (only) the first week of April 2010 of the decisions of the Refereed Paper Committee and Symposium Review Committee regarding conference presentation submissions. It is the responsibility of the lead author to notify his/her other co-presenters whether the paper has been accepted for presentation at the San Juan, Puerto Rico USA conference.

Can I request a date or time of for my presentation?
The ICHRIE Call for Papers states that all persons submitting conference presentations must be available for any day of the conference. The conference schedule is determined by a joint effort of the ICHRIE Director of Conventions, the Conference Review Committees, and ICHRIE staff. Due to the volume of concurrent sessions offered during the ICHRIE conference, it is not possible to offer presenters a choice of day or time for presentations. The team assigned to finalize the conference schedules needs the freedom to select the most appropriate presentations for each concurrent session time slot in order to achieve our goal of providing a diverse and balanced offering during each concurrent session time slot.

My school/company is a member of ICHRIE. Does that mean I can register as a member?
Unless your name is listed in the ICHRIE membership database as the contact person for the institutional or corporate membership, you must be an individual member of ICHRIE in good standing or one of the three names associated with a Premium membership to register for the conference at the member rate. Each institutional or corporate ICHRIE membership has only one person designated as the institutional or corporate membership holder as indicated on the ICHRIE membership application.

Will ICHRIE provide the audio/visual equipment I need for my individual presentation/ session?
ICHRIE will provide an LCD projector and screen for each session. Laptop computers are not provided. Presenters are responsible for ordering and paying for any other audio/visual equipment they desire directly with the audio/visual company. Can I post a job opening at the 2010 ICHRIE Conference?
There will be a Position Posting Board at the 2009 ICHRIE Conference. The cost is US$125 per position posting. Please reserve your space on the job posting board with Blaine Siske at 01 (972) 929-3169, extension 203 or email conference@chrie.org. You may either bring your posting and payment (checks made payable to ICHRIE/MPIRE or credit card) to the ICHRIE registration desk or you may email the posting to conference@chrie.org and mail payment to ICHRIE/MPIRE, 5005 Royal Lane, Suite 190, Irving, Texas USA 75063.

Another option is the ICHRIE Career Center, which offers institutions the opportunity to market their schools or programs at the ICHRIE Annual Conference by choosing from several cost-saving options. Will there be a literature table where I can place flyers or brochures for ICHRIE attendees?  
Distributing literature/materials at the ICHRIE conference is only available by completing a Conference Bag Insert Form. Conference bag contributors can send materials to be placed inside the registration bags of all ICHRIE conference attendees. Please see the Conference Bag Insert form (available on the ICHRIE website) or call Blaine Siske at 01 (972) 929-3169 ext.203 for information. Any unauthorized literature/materials distributed or placed at the conference will be promptly removed and discarded.

Is there a telephone number I can call for questions?
