Tenure-track faculty position available August 16, 2013. Responsibilities: develop courses and instruct undergraduates in hospitality management with a commitment to excellence, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: event management, conventions, meeting planning and hospitality cost control. Establish a focused program of scholarship and publish in appropriate top-tier journals; direct master’s theses and projects; advise students; provide service to the campus, community, and industry; support ongoing program growth and development. Minimum qualifications: requirements for a doctorate completed on or before April 30, 2013; at least one degree in hospitality management or related field; relevant professional experience in hospitality management; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and interact effectively with faculty and staff to contribute to the strategic plan for the department, college, and university. Preferred qualifications: significant professional experience in hospitality management; record of successful teaching of hospitality management or related field; evidence of scholarship through publications, presentations, and successful grant proposals; successful involvement with professional organizations in the discipline.
