The School of Business at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time tenure track assistant or associate professor of hospitality and tourism management beginning September 1, 2013. An earned doctorate in hospitality and tourism management or a related discipline is required (candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree will be considered). Education, teaching and research in the hospitality and tourism industry are strongly desired. In addition, applicants should possess several years of hospitality industry work experience. All Stockton faculty members are required to teach in the general studies program. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to both teaching excellence and quality research.
The position primarily involves teaching hospitality and tourism management courses at the undergraduate level. The candidate may also teach courses in support of one of the college’s graduate degree programs. She or he will teach required and possibly elective courses in two of the following areas: Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hotel Operations, Facilities, HR, Marketing, or Accounting. All Stockton faculty members are required to teach in the general studies program.
The HTMS program is poised to expand, in part due to Stockton’s recent acquisition of the historic Seaview Resort, a 300 acre resort including two world renowned golf courses, located 5 miles from the main campus. The world-class Seaview Stockton Hotel and Golf Club serves as a “living learning lab” for students in the HTMS program. Applicants will help with Stockton’s hospitality and tourism program development as we fulfill and expand Stockton’s educational mission while helping the community and its economy.
