Full-Time, Dean Culinary Institute of Michigan Position Full-Time, Dean for the Culinary Institute of Michigan Reports to Vice President for Academics Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree or willingness to expedite master degree attainment preferred, bachelor’s degree required
  • Post-secondary Culinary Arts teaching experience with experience in curriculum development, assessment and budget development required
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in a kitchen management position and ServSafe certification required
  • Must be certified through the ACF or meet the requirements for ACF certification at CCC level
  • Must have exceptional technical culinary skills and solid fundamental knowledge of advanced cooking techniques
  • Must have excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and computer literacy skills
  • Must demonstrate the ability to foster collaborative teams in a positive work environment
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance and visionary direction for the Culinary Institute of Michigan to ensure highly effective programs, including program promotion, evaluation and development
  • Maintain a highly visible presence in the local and culinary arts community and membership in professional organizations that advance the mission of the CIM
  • Facilitate and participate in leadership development programs on campus and in the Baker College system
  • Facilitate and participate in campus and system meetings, including orientations and student advising
  • Lead all aspects of specialized accreditations
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain highly effective faculty and program directors within the division
  • Oversee and manage the creation and administration of the CIM budget
  • Teach a minimum of 1 course (4 contact hours) per year
  • Other duties as assigned
Work Schedule Standard-Academic (52 weeks/5 weeks vacation) Some evening and weekend hours may be required Starting Date ASAP Compensation Salary rate based on education, experience, and existing wage rates paid for similar positions Baker College.
