Job Description
The Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2014. Position responsibilities are to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; actively mentor undergraduate and graduate students; develop a focused program of scholarship that includes funded research, peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, and collaborative research; and participate in department, college, and university activities associated with positions at a land-grant institution.

Required Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in hospitality management or related field must be earned prior to the start date
  • At least one degree must be in events or hospitality management
  • Two years of management experience in events or hospitality management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching hospitality management in the areas of sales and marketing at the college level
  • Experience teaching event management and hospitality management classes at the college level
  • Experience teaching on-line courses
  • Proven record of research, including grants and interdisciplinary team projects

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
