F&B Instructor - Kitchen (1,0 fte)

General Function Description
Hotelschool The Hague students need practical experience to fully develop their hands-on approach and hospitality management skills. They gain this experience in our own facilities: at both campuses there are different restaurant concepts and a hotel where students learn and practice essential F&B and hospitality skills.

You will work in the kitchen of our ‘La Mangerie’ restaurant. At the Hotelschool, senior students who have completed their internship, manage the first year students during their practical education in the F&B facilities. You coach and supervise both these groups. Additionally, you will work in our Fine-Dining restaurants.

Candidate Profile
You have/are:

  • an intermediate vocational education graduate (MBO-4 level);
  • experience as Chef at Fine-Dining restaurants;
  • familiar with a range of contemporary business restaurant concepts;
  • a qualified coach and experienced in supervising students;
  • experience with modern, automated order processes;
  • a team player; within our team this means that you are a flexible, committed, trustworthy, innovative and convincing colleague;
  • willing to work irregular hours (occasionally at weekends);
  • excellent verbal and written command of both Dutch and English;
  • an affinity with the hospitality sector and education.

Remuneration
Depending on your education and experience, your salary will be in-line with the sector’s collective agreement (HCO-CAO 2012-13) in scale 8, with a gross monthly salary between € 2,500 and € 2,875. Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent remuneration package including:

  • a 13th month;
  • employees with working weeks of 40 hours are entitled to 428 hours (53 days) of leave with retention of salary per calendar year;
  • a retirement pension through ABP;
  • excellent opportunities for further education;
  • the possibility to participate in collective (health) insurance.

Additional information
The vacancy is for a full-time position (5-day working week) for the period of one year with a view to a permanent position.
An English language proficiency test forms part of the selection procedures.

You will be mainly working in the new Amsterdam campus located on the Jan Evertsenstraat. However, you should also be prepared to work at our campus in The Hague if required.
