The School of Business at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time tenure track position beginning September 1, 2014 for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies. This position involves teaching hospitality and tourism management courses at the undergraduate level in two of the following areas: hospitality and tourism management, hotel operations, facilities, business policies and strategy, or hospitality accounting or marketing. Teaching opportunities also exist in the business studies and MBA programs. All Stockton faculty members are required to teach courses in general studies as well.
Along with a track record of excellence in teaching, incumbents in this position are expected to develop and/or maintain a record of high-quality publications in hospitality and tourism management journals and present peer-reviewed work at appropriate academic conferences. Other duties include providing college service, as well as maintaining liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners. The School of Business is currently a candidate for AACSB accreditation.
An earned doctorate in hospitality and tourism managemet or related discipline is required (candidates within one year of completion of the doctorate will be considered). Evidence of potential for teaching, research, and service in the hospitality and tourism management field are required. Applicants should possess several years of hospitality work experience, and have exposure to or experience with the liberal arts.
Since becoming a separate program in 2007, the HTMS program has experienced steady growth, spurred in part by Stockton's acquisition of the historic Seaview Resort, a 300 acre resort including two world class golf courses, located five miles from the main campus. The Stockton Seaview Resort serves as a "living learning lab" for student in the HTMS program. The successful candidate will help with Stockton's hospitality and tourism program development as well as fulfill and expand Stockton's educational mission with its strong ties to the community and its economy.
