Assistant/Associate Professor/Hospitality Management

Tenure-track faculty position available August 15, 2014.

Responsibilities: develop courses and instruct undergraduates in hospitality management with a commitment to excellence, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: event management, conventions, and meeting planning; establish a focused program of scholarship and publish in appropriate top-tier journals; direct master’s theses and projects; advise students; provide service to the campus, community, and industry; support ongoing program growth and development.

Minimum qualifications: all requirements for a doctorate completed by date of appointment; at least one degree in hospitality management or related field; relevant professional experience in hospitality management; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and interact effectively with faculty and staff to contribute to the strategic plan for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, College of Applied Sciences and Technology, and the university.

Preferred qualifications: professional experience in hospitality management; a record of successful teaching of hospitality management or related field; evidence of scholarship through publications, presentations, and successful grant proposals; successful involvement with professional organizations in the discipline.
