The School of Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management in the College of Hospitality, Retail & Sport Management seeks applications and nominations for hospitality scholars at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The School serves over 700 students, 400 minors, 30 master’s students and a new Ph.D. program. It employs 15 full-time faculty and a number of distinguished adjunct faculty.

With internationally known destinations such as Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Hilton Head Island, and Kiawah Island, the hospitality industry contributes significantly to South Carolina’s economy. Tourism is the number one industry in South Carolina and this provides a rich opportunity for industry partnerships and research prospects.

The search committee welcomes inquiries from all areas of concentration or focus at this time, however the committee is particularly interested in hearing from scholars focusing on lodging management, information technology and/or research methodology, including big data analytics, advanced quantitative or qualitative methods, mixed methods research, economics, and spatial analysis using geographic information systems.

The successful candidate shall have a Ph.D. in hospitality or related field by the beginning date of employment, evidence of serving as instructor of record at the university level, and both industry and academic expertise in hospitality or a closely related field. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, demonstrate an active, innovative, applied research agenda, identify and seek external funding to support research and graduate students and provide service that is beneficial to the school, college, and university.
