Chair of Nutrition & Hospitality Management/Associate Professor or Full Professor

The School of Applied Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management at The University of Mississippi is seeking applications for Chair of Nutrition and Hospitality Management/Associate Professor or Full Professor. This is a twelve-month, tenure-track position at the rank of associate or full professor as determined by research/scholarly publication records and academic achievements.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Nutrition/Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Hospitality Management, Hospitality Administration, or related field. Evidence of academic administrative experience, research/scholarly achievement, engaged/ongoing research, experience with extramurally-funded research grants and an excellent teaching record is required.

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, the primary responsibility will include providing leadership and visionary direction to the department. Additional responsibilities are personnel administration, budgeting, planning, accreditation, assessment, development/fundraising, sponsored program activities, agency outreach, alumni relations, enhancing scholarly activities within the department, fostering positive/collegial relationships and other duties as assigned. The department operates a student-operated restaurant, UM nutrition clinic and a sports center.
