The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management is soliciting applicants for one non-tenure track assistant professor (teaching/instruction) in EVENT MANAGEMENT. Applicants will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in event management, event marketing/sponsorship, sales, and/or event logistics/facilities. Additionally, the successful applicant will join a team that will advise and implement strategy around event management degree concentrations, student clubs, auxiliary programming, industry engagement, and the management of school-based events.
The salary will be based on qualifications and experience. A Ph.D. in tourism and hospitality management, sport and recreation management, event management, or a related field is desired, however a minimum of a master’s degree is required. The appointment will begin the fall semester, 2014.
The School is seeking a faculty member who has had experience in managing events, as well as an established record of teaching excellence, program leadership, student mentoring, and high value service activities. Preference will be given to applicants who have a strong record in these areas, as well as a commitment to engaging in industry sponsored research projects.
