Hospitality Management Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) in the Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech, invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor of Practice of Hospitality Management to begin August 2014. At least a Masters degree in Hospitality Management or a Masters in Business Administration with 10+ years of professional experience in hospitality management is required for the position; 15+ years of professional experience with progressive experience and increasing managerial responsibility is preferred. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of the candidate’s potential for and record of teaching in hospitality finance, assett management, and related areas of hospitality management, as well as ability to work effectively in a collegial environment.

This position is an Academic Year (9 month, August to May), full time teaching appointment. The selected individual will teach undergraduate and MS level courses, assist with advising students and serve on departmental and college committees. Additional summer school teaching may be available.

The HTM Department is one of six Departments in the Pamplin College of Business. We are consistently ranked as one of the premier programs in the world. The Department offers a BS in Business with a major in Hospitality and Tourism Management, and an MS and a Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management. All of our degrees are fully accredited by AACSB. Currently, there are approximately 300 undergraduates, 20 masters, and 20 Ph.D. students in the program.
