You will join a multidisciplinary team of 70 faculty members working in a range of hospitality related business areas. The school community is international, and the programme is taught completely in English. General Function Description
You are able to develop courses that are closely linked to real-world hospitality management practice. You will train, coach and assess international students in communication and leadership skills. The communication skills are for example handling difficult behaviour, handling complaints, giving presentations and teamwork. The leadership skills are for example motivating employees, progress and appraisal interviews and meeting skills. The leadership skills include training twice a year at an outdoor location. You are a professional and motivating trainer, encouraging both students and colleagues to achieve excellence. You are an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute to the school’s success. You feel at home in a dynamic and international academic environment.


  • excellent training and coaching skills;
  • a minimum of 4 years of international work experience in training in communication skills, leadership and management, preferably within a hospitality focused organisation;
  • a bachelor degree, preferably a Master’s degree;
  • excellent social skills, an ability to work independently, and a proactive attitude to problem solving;
  • an excellent oral and written command of English;
  • insights into and knowledge of current affairs and developments in (hospitality) management;
  • a great affinity with higher education;
  • an enthusiastic approach to education with an emphasis on coaching students to deal with real-world professional assignments.

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary in the range of € 45,000 and € 50,000 gross per year, depending on your professional experience and qualifications. The contract is annual; however, a permanent contract (similar to tenure) can be received within the first three years. In addition, Hotelschool The Hague offers an excellent package of fringe benefits, such as 53 days of leave with retention of salary per calendar year, a ABP retirement pension, excellent opportunities for further education and collective (health) insurance.

Additional information
You will mainly work in The Hague but you are willing to work at both school campuses in The Hague and Amsterdam.
