Assistant Professor (tenure-track): Hospitality Management

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Niagara University is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to teach in various aspects of hospitality management beginning in Fall 2013. Applicants must have the ability and expertise to teach in two or more of these areas: organizational behavior/management and leadership, hotel/resort development, human resources, resort and spa management, and strategic management.

Candidates must provide evidence of strong teaching skills and demonstrate research ability. It is desirable for the candidate to possess some breadth in their teaching expertise. Industry work experience or evidence of collaboration with Industry is highly desirable. Candidate must hold at least one undergraduate or graduate degree in hospitality management or business AND a doctoral degree in an applicable discipline from accredited institutions. Applications from individuals at the doctoral degree completion stage are welcomed. Recent or soon to be doctoral graduates are encouraged to apply.

Funding is available for research support, faculty internships, conference presentations, and participation in a range of international programs. The College’s Hospitality Training and Research Center offers unique opportunities for faculty.

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management is ACHPA accredited and one of only four colleges at Niagara University. It is a nationally ranked program. Founded in 1856, Niagara University is a founding member of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World; offered the world’s first Bachelor’s degree in tourism; and has tripled its enrollment since 2000 to over 425 undergraduate students. In 2001 the home of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management underwent a $13 million renovation to include new faculty offices, fully mediated classrooms, a dedicated computer lab with a wide range of software, and the addition of a new teaching kitchen and dining room. Since 2000 the College has been the recipient of numerous private foundation grants.
