The George Washington University School of Business invites applications to fill a non-tenure track, open rank teaching position in Event and Sport Management or related tourism studies field, to begin Fall Semester, 2013.
Assistant: Applicants for Assistant Teaching Professor with a focus in Event and Sport Management or related tourism studies field must have either (1) a doctoral degree in the teaching area completed by August 1, 2013 or (2) a master’s degree in the relevant teaching area and professional experience of at least five years in duration which is current, substantial in terms of level of responsibility and clearly linked to the field of teaching.
Associate: Applicants for Associate Teaching Professor with a focus in Event and Sport Management or related tourism studies field must have earned a doctoral degree in the teaching area and must have achieved a rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
All applicants must demonstrate teaching excellence including distance learning as well as a minimum of one year full time equivalent practical experience documented by letters of reference and teaching evaluations.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong and continuing interest in alternative educational delivery systems, including experience in distance education. For all positions, rank is commensurate with the qualifications. Salary and benefits are competitive. This is an academic year appointment. There are opportunities for teaching and administrative assignments during the summer session. The successful applicant is expected to actively participate in non-teaching service activities in the School
