Assistant Professor - Hospitality Business

The School of Hospitality Business, an industry-specific academic unit within the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, is seeking an assistant professor in the area of hospitality business information systems and hospitality business information technology. Responsibilities: Primary emphasis will be placed on scholarly research. Specifically, the successful candidate will conduct research that will be published in Tier 1 and other refereed hospitality academic journals. Industry-focused publications are a secondary priority. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality information systems, technology, and operations.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a relevant area of concentration/discipline; applicants must complete dissertation prior to June 1, 2013. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have at minimum one publication in print, or accepted for publication, in a Tier 1 academic journal in hospitality or related discipline, and at least one hospitality business-related conference presentation. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hospitality management work experience, such as IT Manager, General Manager, Department Head, or comparable level position. International experience is desired. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
