The Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management in the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS), is a dynamic and growing educational and research center located in the heart of Manhattan. The Tisch Center offers an extensive complement of hospitality, tourism, and sports management academic programs, including two undergraduate degree programs for full-time traditional age students in residence, three graduate degree programs and their corresponding graduate certificates, and continuing education/non-credit courses and accelerated certificates. The Tisch Center educates and inspires its community to become effective leaders and agents of change across the businesses of hospitality, tourism, and sports management. Through rigorous higher education programs and long-standing industry conferences and events, the Tisch Center immerses future global citizens and corporate leaders in the energy, vitality, and dynamism of New York City business, culture, and education. The Tisch Center is especially well-known for organizing the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, which attracts approximately 2,000 participants annually, and generates significant scholarship support for our degree-seeking students.

The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor positions will provide full-time academic services to our undergraduate program in Hospitality and Tourism Management and graduate programs in Hospitality Industry Studies and Tourism Management. Full-time faculty members are expected to teach three degree courses per semester. In addition to teaching, each faculty member assists with student advisement and activities, including with student organizations, curriculum planning, conducts applied research in the field, recruits and supervises adjunct faculty, participates on committees and in special projects, and nurtures industry relationships.

Professional experience: The successful applicant will possess evidence of professional distinction in the field, significant industry experience, and appropriate academic credentials sufficient to merit appointment to the full-time faculty of the Tisch Center. (An earned terminal graduate or professional degree is expected.) For candidates who may not have had formal teaching experience within a university setting, involvement with higher education, teaching in a professional environment, publications or evidence of excellent communication and analytical skills will be considered. Applicants with experience in Hospitality and Tourism should have experience in at least two of the following areas: lodging finance and development, research methods, human resources in services, hospitality accounting (USALI), financial management, tourism policy, tourism development and event planning and production.

Terms: This is a full-time, non-tenurable, nine-month academic appointment to begin fall 2013. Based on performance, the initial contract term is renewable. The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
