The Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies of FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON UNIVERSITY invites applications for Director of the International School of Hospitality, and Tourism Management (ISHTM), to begin July 2013.

ISHTM offers a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Indivualized Studies with a specialization in Hospitality, a Master of Science in Hospitality Management Studies and a Master of Science in Service, Innovation and Leadership.

The International School is located on the Metropolitan Campus, the College at Florham Campus, the Vancouver Campus and at Community College Partnership sites in New Jersey.

The position carries primary responsibility for administration of the School, including full- and part-time faculty recruitment, evaluation, and development; student recruitment and retention; promotion of teaching excellence and faculty scholarship; program development; learning assessment; budget management; course scheduling; and collaboration with faculty and administrators to advance the goals of the University. The position includes teaching.

The successful candidate will have:

  1. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a hospitality related field
  2. Academic administrative experience at the degree program level
  3. Senior management experience in the field of hospitality
  4. A record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service commensurate with appointment to a senior faculty rank of Associate Professor
  5. A student focus
  6. Proven leadership skills, including ability to foster constructive teamwork and to build programs
  7. Experience with and commitment to learning outcomes assessment and effective use of instructional technologies
  8. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A DMV check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the DMV check.
  9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
