Chairperson, Hospitality Services Department
12-Month, Full-Time, Tenured Associate or Full Professor, Fall 2014


Minimum Qualifications: (1) Holds the rank of tenured associate or full professor in a department of hospitality tourism or related field at an accredited university ; (2) obtained a doctoral degree with at least one degree in Hospitality Management or a related field; (3) has a demonstrated record of research, teaching and service at the university level; (4) has successfully been engaged in educational leadership experiences; (5) has the ability to communicate and interact effectively with all constituencies.

Preferred Qualifications: managerial experience in the hospitality industry. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Department Chairperson Responsibilities: The chairperson reports to the dean of the Rosen College and is responsible for the department's academic programs (including curriculum), governance, faculty recruitment, planning and financial affairs. The Chairperson acts as the department's advocate fulfilling the missions of the department, college, and university, and participates on the College Executive Committee. She/he represents the department to students, faculty, administration and the industry. The chairperson also leads the faculty in pursuit of grants and contracts and develops a flow of research from the department.
Assistant Professor, One Position, Fall 2014 Term
9-Month, Full-Time, Tenure Track


Minimum Qualifications: (1) an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment with at least one degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management or related field; (2) potential for research, teaching and service at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in hospitality industry or tourism; Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities: Develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following hospitality/tourism specialized areas: event management; lodging management; hospitality/tourism human resources; hospitality/tourism marketing; guest services, hospitality accounting; hospitality finance; hospitality strategic management; and restaurant food services. Participate in university, college and department committees; maintain liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners; establish a strong research program and actively publish in appropriate journals.
Associate Professor in Hospitality Finance, One Position, Fall 2014 Term
9-Month, Full-Time, Tenure Track


Minimum Qualifications: (1) an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment with at least one degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management or related field; (2) potential and demonstrated track-record for research, teaching and service at the university level. (3) Full-time managerial experience in finance and related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in hospitality or financial industry; Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities: Develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality finance. Participate in university, college and department committees; maintain liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners; establish a strong research program and actively publish in appropriate journals.
A Lecturer, Spring 2014 Term 9-Month, Full-Time, Multi-year Position

Minimum Qualifications: (1) an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment with at least one degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management or related field; (2) experience in teaching and service at the university level; (3) experience in managing food and beverage educational laboratories

Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in food service or catering industry; Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities: Develop and instruct undergraduate courses in restaurant food services and related fields. Participate in university, college and department committees; maintain liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners; manage food and beverage educational laboratories and food service and catering operations
An Instructor, Spring 2014 Term 9-Month, Full-Time, Multi-year Position

Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree at the time of appointment with at least one degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management or related field; (2) experience in teaching and service at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications: Management experience in the hospitality and tourism industry; Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities: Develop and instruct undergraduate courses in one or more of the following hospitality/tourism specialized areas: introduction to hospitality/tourism; hospitality/tourism human resources; hospitality/tourism marketing; guest services; hospitality communications, and lodging operations and restaurant food services. Participate in university, college and department committees; maintain liaisons with appropriate professional groups and industry partners. This person will primarily teach courses on the main campus.
