Kent State University invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position in Hospitality Management beginning fall semester 2014. The position offers an opportunity to be a part of a successful ACPHA accredited undergraduate program and a graduate program in hospitality and tourism management.

Responsibilities: Develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality management with a focus on one or more of the following areas: lodging and service quality management, strategic management and/or financial management with a commitment to excellence. Teach additional hospitality management courses in areas such as: hospitality service quality management, hospitality human resources management, strategic lodging management, and hospitality financial policy. Establish a focused program of scholarship and publish in appropriate journals. Direct master’s theses and projects. Advise students and provide service to campus, community, and industry. Develop international initiatives including internships, study abroad, faculty exchange. Support on-going program growth and development.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Hospitality Management or related field from an accredited university. Significant hospitality industry experience in lodging management preferred. Candidates must have potential for teaching excellence, ability to conduct and publish research, and potential to receive extramural funding. Candidates for Associate Professor must have an established record of scholarly activity and teaching excellence. A successful record of extramural funding is preferred.
