Business Administration. Transylvania University, a selective, independent, residential, liberal arts college of 1,150 students, invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Business Administration, beginning September 2014.
Ph.D. required by start date. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Business Administration, or a hospitality-related area. While not required, an MBA is preferred for non-Business Administration degree applicants. A background in sustainable foods is desired. Teaching assignments (3-3-1) will require the application of sustainable practices and management to business, the environment, and society, as well as expertise in the food industry. Course offerings may include interdisciplinary food management/hospitality related courses, business administration courses, food laboratory courses, and participation on a rotating basis in the first-year seminar program. All faculty serve as academic advisors. Bingham Program for Excellence in Teaching may provide start-up awards for recent Ph.D.s or substantial salary supplements after tenure.
