Iowa State University’s Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management invites applications for a full-time lecturer (non-tenure track) position beginning August 16, 2014. The initial contract will be for two years, with renewal based on performance. This is a permanent position in our budget going forward.
Position responsibilities include undergraduate teaching and participating in service activities. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of three classes each semester. The ideal candidate will teach either introduction to hospitality management or private club management, plus other assigned hospitality or events management classes.
A master’s degree in hospitality management or related field is required by the start date, as is a minimum of two years management experience in events or hospitality management. Experience in teaching event and/or hospitality management courses is preferred, as is experience teaching online courses.
