Assistant Professor of Practice - Culinary Position

Type: Nine month appointment

Salary: Competitive, based on qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree in hospitality management or closely related field; doctoral degree is preferred. Food and beverage management experience is required; culinary certification is desirable. Demonstrated teaching experience, particularly in a culinary laboratory, is desirable.
Responsibilities: Teach in the Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management program with a focus on food and beverage management courses primarily at the undergraduate level. The professor of practice will also be responsible for the overseeing and management of the staff as well as coordinate student-learning experiences at the department’s functioning restaurant lab, Skyviews. The professor of practice will also work with department administration to meet budget and revenue objectives. The professor of practice may also be required to assist with the coordination of food and beverage instruction across our campuses outside of Lubbock, across the state and in Costa Rica.
