Position
Nine-month non-tenure-track position and not eligible for tenure, a full-time lecturer in Hospitality Management, with the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Hospitality Management, College of Human Sciences, beginning May 2022, or earlier. Contract renewed annually based upon need, funding, and performance

Responsibilities
The lecturer will be responsible for all food and beverage service laboratory teaching in the 1856 Restaurant in the new Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center. Courses will include Food Production and Service in Hospitality, Food and Beverage Management, Special Events, and Global Gastronomy. The lecturer will also assist the program with undergraduate academic advising. The successful applicant would participate in the formation of department policies related to the undergraduate curriculum but would not participate in decisions regarding promotion and tenure, graduate faculty membership, or policies unrelated to the curriculum, except as they directly affect the lecturer’s role. The lecturer will be dedicated entirely to teaching and not be required to develop, pursue, or maintain an independent research agenda. This assignment will allow a high-level dedication to effective teaching. The lecturer will be reviewed annually by the Department Head. Based on the College and Department guidelines, the lecturer will be eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of five years’ supervisory industry-oriented experience, an MS in Hospitality Management or a related field at the time employment begins, hospitality teaching experience, academic advising, and recruitment experience. The candidate selected for this position must also meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.

Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in Hospitality or a related field.

Setting
The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Hospitality Management employs 16 full-time tenure-track faculty affiliated with the College of Human Sciences. The department offers a baccalaureate degree program in Hospitality Management, with program options in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Event Management, and Culinary Science The department also offers an MS and Ph.D. in Hospitality Management and an MS degree in Brewing Science and Operations. The Hospitality Management Program will be housed in the newly constructed Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center.
