Meetings, Events, Exhibitions & Convention Management SIGThe Meetings, Events, Exhibitions, and Conventions Management (MEECM) SIG provides opportunities for cross-collaboration, information sharing, and bridge building across all segments of the hospitality industry and interested groups (e.g., teachers, researchers, industry/practitioners) in the multi-faceted area of meetings and events.
A LETTER FROM LEADERSHIPHappy Summer, MEECM SIG Members! It’s that time of year again, as we eagerly await the Annual ICHIRE Global Conference. It’s not too late to register, if you haven’t made your plans to head to Indianapolis, Indiana in the United States yet! Not only is the conference a great place to learn more about topics of interest to you, but it’s a time to come together with likeminded educators in the event management field.
MEECM SIG Meeting & Crown Plaza Indy Tour Join the Meetings, Events, Exhibitions and Convention Management (MEECM) SIG on Friday, 20 June 2025 at 1:30 PM for an exclusive off-site experience! We'll depart the JW Marriott Indianapolis lobby (front doors) at 1:10 PM and walk to the historic Crown Plaza Indy. We anticipate the session ending at 2:30pm. Upon arrival, General Manager Tom Cappucci will lead us on a fascinating tour, sharing insights into the hotel's rich history, including tales of its underground railroad connections and resident "ghosts." We'll also get to see their unique meeting spaces and, if available, a train car suite! Following the tour, we'll have a brief 15-minute SIG meeting in a dedicated breakout room or lounge at the Crown Plaza. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore a piece of Indianapolis history and connect with your SIG colleagues!
