Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I am Michelle Millar, Hospitality Professor at the University of San Francisco, and I am honored to be serving as your West Federation CHRIE president for 2024-2025. I have been in hospitality and tourism management education for 15 years, after working in the industry for 14 years. I joined ICHRIE/WFCHRIE as a PHD student at UNLV in 2011 and have been involved ever-since. I appreciate and value the friendships and relationships I have made over those years and look forward to creating many more!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion Award, sponsored by California State University, Sacramento:

WestCHRIE is pleased to announce the Call For Nominations for our Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, sponsored by California State University, Sacramento. This award recognizes significant achievements of individuals in developing a diverse and inclusive environment throughout the hospitality and tourism education, academia, industry, and/or community. The attachment provides details about the nomination process. Nominations are due 7 January 2025.

Scholarships to attend WFCHRIE 2025 Conference

Six (6) $500 scholarships will be awarded – three (3) for graduate/undergraduate students, and three (3) for faculty members/lecturers. Award winners must be current West Federation CHRIE members, register and attend the conference. A check will be prepared and delivered to awardees at the conference. The application on our website, is due 12 January 2024.
