2022 ICHRIE Hotel Challenge by Knowledge Matters

Dear ICHRIE Members,

The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (ICHRIE) and Knowledge Matters are pleased to present the 2022 ICHRIE Hotel Challenge by Knowledge Matters featuring the Hospitality Collection of Case Simulations!

The ICHRIE Hotel Challenge by Knowledge Matters is open to college-level students at schools that are ICHRIE institutional members. Participants test their skills at managing a simulated hotel. This web-based simulation used in the competition was developed in partnership with the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation and Marriott International.

Participants will experience real-world scenarios like they would working in a real hotel including various combinations of the following concepts:

Front desk operations
Housekeeping
Marketing & public relations
Group sales
Banquets
Pricing & revenue management
Social media
Restaurant operations
And more!

Scores will be based on a balanced scorecard that includes profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction and participants will be ranked based on their scorecard.

The first through third place nationally ranked students will win the following awards, funded by the ICHRIE Future Fund!

1st Place: $1,000
2nd Place: Complimentary registration to the Annual ICHRIE Summer Conference, August 3-6, 2022 in Washington, DC
3rd Place: Complimentary registration to the next ICHRIE Federation Conference in winner’s Region

Registration is NOW OPEN and the competition runs from Monday, 4th April 2022 at 10:00AM ET (NY) through Friday, 15th April 2022 at 5:00PM ET (NY). Registration will remain open during the entire event. Please see complete challenge details for more information.

CHALLENGE DETAILS

We hope you will encourage your students to register! Students who are currently using, or who have previously used, Case Simulations may use their existing accounts to participate. Students who have not used the online simulation will be given the opportunity to create a new account free of charge.
