THE FALL 2023 ESD INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SHOW

On Thursday, 26 October 2023, Eta Sigma Delta students and faculty met at the International Travel Show (ITS) at Jacob Javits Center in New York, NY, USA. Schools that joined ICHRIE for this event were Michigan State University, York College of Pennsylvania, Stockton University, Fort Hays State University, Missouri State University, University of Memphis, Troy University, University of Delaware, and Johnson and Wales University. We had a total of 32 students and 9 faculty members in attendance!

Thursday we all met at the ITS in the morning and were greeted by Visit NJ DMO Director Mike Snyder and he guided us through the show and helped facilitate a meet and greet with several DMO colleagues. There were over 150 international travel exhibitors! The show had vibrant keynote speakers as well as several educational sessions that discussed the latest trends in cruising, air travel, and the predictions of the top travel trends for 2024.

Several tours were organized for the groups starting with The Marriott Marquis and Hard Rock Hotel Times Square on Thursday and the Altman Building (event space), AKA Nomad Hotel and The Yale Club on Friday.

ESD hosted a Networking Reception at The Porchlight Bar on Thursday evening and about thirty students and faculty advisors attended.

The ESD students and faculty members were also busy throughout the city attending Broadway shows, plays, comedy clubs, and the beautiful parks and shops that New York City has to offer. This was a fantastic experience for all who attended!
