CHRIE FutureFund™ Recognizes Best Paper Winners
The 30th Annual Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality & Tourism was held at the University of Houston 2-4 January 2025. A record attendance of 422 witnessed numerous refereed paper presentations and posters.
The CHRIE FutureFund™ has for several years provided the Best Paper Winners with a $1,000 award, including complimentary registration to the 2025 ICHRIE Annual Global Conference, as well as a complimentary ICHRIE membership.
The 2025 Best Paper Winners were:
Hayley Joo (Iowa State University)
– Elevating hotel event experiences for all: A multi-theory framework for neuroinclusion, consensus building, and co-value creation (with advisor Ching-Hui [Joan] Su).
Chunsheng (Jerry) Jin (Iowa State University)
– Validation of LLM performance for tourism and hospitality research: A guide to applying GPT for text data analysis (with advisor Jewoo Kim).
Ngoc Tran Nguyen (University of Central Florida) & Vu Minh Hoang Dang (University of Houston)
– Leveraging service quality model as a feature set with machine learning for fake hotel review detection (with advisors Murat Hancer [UCF] & Rakesh Verma [UH].
