Sustainability & Innovation SIG Meeting
Thursday, March 20, 2025, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT
Category: Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Dear ICHRIE SIG Sustainability and Innovations Colleagues, I hope you had a good start in the New Year despite the multiple environmental and socio-political challenges we see taking place in all corners of our blue planet… This sets the stage for our next SIG meeting which will focus on the challenges of teaching sustainability amidst sustainability fatigue. The idea is for one-hour online session of communal exchange of experiences and strategies related to addressing sustainability failures in hospitality, particularly under the shadow of current global uncertainties; the session is called: Resilient Sustainability Teaching in a VUCA world I have talked to many educators over the past year and we all (or most) face the dual challenge of engaging students on sustainability issues while combating fatigue and anxiety that often accompany these discussions; so it’s equally about effective teaching practices but also personal coping strategies to ensure we remain effective and motivated in our roles. Your insights and experiences are invaluable, and I believe this meeting will benefit greatly from your participation. Mark your calendar (Calendar invite is following soon): Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 18:00 CEST | 17:00 GMT | 12:00 EDT | 09:00 PDT Snowy greetings from Bonn, Germany and Maastricht, The Netherlands Willy & Malu MORE ABOUT THE S&I SIG |
