About Us
The University of New Orleans is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor at the Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration. UNO has an enrollment of approximately 8,000 students and the School resides within the AACSB accredited College of Business Administration. Classes are offered in all major areas of hospitality and tourism and the School has approximately 150 undergraduate and 40 graduate students. The School enjoys a strong working relationship with the large and growing tourism industry in New Orleans and benefits from a multi-million-dollar foundation. The College of Business also includes the Hospitality Research Center that undertakes nation-wide grant-based research for the tourism industry.

Job Summary

  • Responsibilities of this faculty member will be to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in service management, general hospitality management, tourism, and event management, and additional subjects based on the candidate's specific expertise and the needs of the School.
  • The candidate will also engage in research and scholarly activities leading to peer-reviewed published articles; participate in professional, university, and department service; advise undergraduate and graduate students; and supervise graduate student research.

Required Qualifications

  1. An earned doctoral degree in Tourism, Hospitality and/or Event Management or related field.
  2. Evidence of teaching ability at university level.
  3. Evidence of ability to publish peer-reviewed research.
